Fred attended our job cafe at Kensington Fields on a weekly basis to look for work. He is in his 60’s and has been unemployed for over a year. He also has a health condition and this limits the type of work he can do. He is looking for care or security work and is very keen to get back into employment.
His Guidance Officer met with him on a weekly basis to help him job search, and also sent him out vacancies in the post. In addition, once he had his CV and covering letter constructed, his Guidance Officer emailed this to employers for Fred. Liverpool in Work also worked in partnership with Rachel from Springboard, and between us we helped him to successfully secure a post with Top Care as a Support Worker. He was really happy to be employed once again after being out of work for such a long time.
Fred said..."I really appreciate all the help and support I received from Liverpool in Work and Springboard, and I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me. I looked forward to going to the Job Café, because it gave me the opportunity to see my advisers together, and the helped me to look at all the different vacancies I could apply for, and then helped me to apply for them. This was a really big help for me."
It is always rewarding to see our clients going into work, especially clients like Fred who had been long term unemployed. It also shows what determination and team work can do, and the positive outcomes it can have. Liverpool in Work wished Fred the best of luck for the future.
